Referral Program

Overview

OBSDN runs a referral program where referrers earn a commission on their referees' trading fees, and referees receive a discount on their own fees.

• Referrer commission: a percentage of the referee's trading fee, paid to the referrer on each fill.
• Referee discount: a percentage reduction on the referee's trading fee, applied on each fill.

Both rates scale with the referrer's tier.

Referral Tiers

Referrers are automatically promoted to higher tiers as they bring in more qualified referees.

A referee must have at least $1,000 USD in trading volume to count toward the referrer's tier promotion.

Grandmaster is an invite-only tier assigned by the team and is not available through auto-promotion.

How It Works

For Referrers

1. Create your referral code via the app.
2. Share it with other traders.
3. When a referee trades, you earn a commission on every fill:

Your tier (and rates) upgrade automatically once you reach the required referee count.

For Referees

1. Enter a referral code via the app.
2. Your fee discount is locked at bind time based on the referrer's current tier.
3. On every fill, your trading fee is reduced:

Example

A referee trades 1 BTC at $60,000 as a taker (0.05% fee). The referrer is at the Platinum tier (15% commission, 10% discount).

$$\text{Trade Fee} = 1 \times 60{,}000 \times 0.0005 = 30 \text{ USDC}$$ $$\text{Referrer Commission} = 30 \times 0.15 = 4.5 \text{ USDC}$$ $$\text{Referee Discount} = 30 \times 0.10 = 3.0 \text{ USDC}$$

The referee pays 27 USDC after discount. The referrer earns 4.5 USDC.
